Economy: April Showed Improvement
Consumers felt much more upbeat about the economy in April, a month when the nation’s manufacturing sector appeared to be crawling out of a deep recessionary hole.
The news is fresh evidence that the U.S. economy may be on a slow path to recovery on the back of a huge federal economic stimulus package and the Federal Reserve’s efforts to prop up the banking sector.
Most of the indicators showed a solid improvement, and even though they are still solidly in a zone associated with recession, they are nowhere near the deep recession/depression type levels feared a few months back.
How are you feeling these days about the economy? Are you more upbeat than you were 6 months ago, or do you think we still have a ways to fall yet? We’d love to know your opinion. Just click the commment link below and tell us what you think. Your email address will NOT be published here.
